Gilman School

Yesterday I had the pleasure to present before the students of Gilman’s Upper School. It was a full house with roughly 400 students. Some faculty were also present.

As a Muslim American US Marine Veteran its always a personal joy for me to be able to use my platform of “Muslim” and “Marine” to help bridge gaps. In fact, immediately after my talk, I was approached by one of the faculty who asked if I’d be willing to come back again and speak to her class. My answer: I’d be happy to!

“The opportunity to have Mansoor Shams on campus was great. His presentation allowed education for the community, which expelled or answered various myths about "Muslims." His performance and ease during the talk allowed for a relaxed atmosphere for the students, which allowed for a more robust Q/A from the audience. It was a pleasure having him on campus.“
